Second Letter

Hola!!!!! January 21, 2013

Two weeks has flown by!!!! I am so excited to leave to Costa Rica in just 4 weeks, however I'm really happy I still have the four weeks here in the MTC! I have so much to learn. The first investigator that we taught here in the MTC accepted the invitation to be baptized next week! Me and my compeneras were so excited!! Even though the investigator is already Mormon, it all seemed so real! Every lesson we were able to feel the spirit take over as we bore witness of the truth! Most of the time we can see Fernando(our investigator) laughing in his mind cuz most the time we don't make sense. I think my companion accidentally told Fernando that Our Savior washed away our fish instead of sins just a few times during a lesson, haha. However the spirit was so strong every time we bore our testimony to him, no matter how simple it was. My companions have been making it a goal to speak Spanish as much as we can when we are not in class. It is fun to be able to carry the small little conversations that don't mean very much...but it's hopeful to us.

Yesterday while waiting in one of the main halls we began talking with two elders. One was from Japan and one was from COSTA RICA!! They both spoke English very well and all three of us sisters (me and my companions) became so excited to meet one of our first fellow Costa Ricans!!! We asked him to say something in Spanish....Oh Crud was all I could think after all he said was, "what do you want me to say?"...he talked so rapido!!!! We were so excited to ask about is home. He said that there are lots of crabs, and tarantulas, and SLOTHS!!!! He also said that the branches are really small but the people there are so kind and generous. His name was Elder Escobar and we told him that we would look for his family while in Costa Rica! His mission is the Salt Lake mission, so we told him we were happy to switch places with him while he is here in Utah.

Yesterday in Relief Society we had the general primary president come and speak to us...she was awesome!! At the very beginning of her talk she had all of us sisters sing "I hope they call me on a mission," except she changed the words a little bit..."I'm glad they called me on a mission, so I can grow a foot or two." Can't believe that I'm actually here learning and growing from the best teacher, the Spirit!! Thank you so much for all of your examples and support in my life! Each of you have been a blessing in my life more than you realize! During Sis. Wixom's talk she told a story of how a missionary was being chased by a dog. When he realized that the dog was about to bite, he decided that it was either his leg or his paperback book of Mormon that he had in his hand. So he stuck out his book of Mormon and the dog bit it (I was a little disturbed by the fact that he decided to sacrifice

his book of Mormon instead of his leg, haha). He showed Sis. Wixom where the bite mark had gone all the way down to 2 Nephi 17. The missionary told Sis. Wixom, "look the dog stops at Isaiah too!" haha, I thought that was a funny story.

Well I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm so grateful to all those who have written me!!!! Seriously, they are so amazing!! It's so helpful to have so much encouragement from friends and family. Sorry I am so slow at responding but unfortunately they don't give you a lot of time, in fact my computer says I have 3 minutes left, dah! ha...Family...thank you so much for E-mails!! They mean the world to me!!! I was in the temple today and I feel that is the best place and best time to be thinking of you...I love you all so much!!! Jocelyn!!! Congratulations to me for being another aunt!!!!! O how excited I am!!! You are one amazing mother, and don't you ever forget that!!! You better keep me updated on my little nephew/ niece!!!

There is one quote I want to share before I end..."When you are compelled to give up something or when things that are dear to you are withdrawn from you, know that this is your lesson to be learned right now. But know also that as you are learning this lesson, God wants to give you something better." -Elder Busche...This is God's work...That's why it is called "Preach MY Gospel" and so because it is His Gospel, it has to be done His way. I pray that we can find in our lives a way to be more obedient to OUR God to show our love for Him. I love this Gospel and thank you parents for raising me and teaching me through the spirit!!! TGT (Aunt Dantzy, I just have to tell you real quick that every day I don't go without my H2O orange juice... and every time I think of you!). Grandma...Just need to tell you I love you and miss you!!! Remember who you are and what you stand for!!

Love, Hermana Pease
