First Letter!!!

Here is Sis. Pease's First letter from the MTC!!!!!!

Hola mi familia y mi amigos!!!!!! MTC Provo, Utah January 14, 2013 Ya, that's about how fluent it gets...well that and “Buenos noches” haha. These past five days have been amazing and have flown!!! The spirit is amazing and I wish all of you could be here to experience what us missionaries get to experience!! Baby "D"...keep having that desire to serve a mission cuz just in these last few days my love for my Savior and my relationship with Him has increased so much more. All though it has been amazing...it has also been pretty rough, especially the first couple of days. First day I walked into my classroom and my teachers begin speaking in Spanish, absolutely no English. Definitely didn't see that one coming...my head was blown with how much I needed to learn. Thankfully we are not expected to learn it all in one day. I was part of the first group of missionaries to come in on Wednesday to be a part of the shortened time length stay at the MTC. A lot of missionaries are jealous when mi compeneras and I tell them we are only here for 6 weeks. Honestly, it makes me a little nervous, but they reassure us that by the time 6 weeks comes we will be ready to leave. Because it is a shorter time, however, they have to squish a lot more into our Spanish classes. I have learned more Spanish in these 5 days than I have in the two years of Spanish that I took in high school. My testimony is that the spirit is the best teacher!!! I get frustrated sometimes because both of my companions (I am in a trio, so there are 3 of us always) had a pretty good head start at Spanish. But then I remind myself that I can't compare and that I just need to work my hardest and the spirit will guide me as I put my trust in the Lord! So it's been interesting having 2 other companions because it takes two times as long as it should. We all have to go to bathroom at different times, we all walk at different paces, and we all have different ideas of how we want to teach. But they both have taught me so much and I have come to love them both so much, and thank goodness I have the Lord's help! The second day I was here it was so fun to see Elder Scofield and Whitney (cousin). Dean and I got a picture together (however i don't have the pic, so I'm hoping he'll send it to you ,Mom)! There is so much to tell you but I have such little time! 2nd day here we taught our first investigator (in Spanish). Most of the time I didn't know what he was saying and sometimes I didn't even know what I was saying. But teaching our investigator is one of my favorite things! The spirit is always so strong!!! I love the Lord and I'm so grateful for the gospel and His work!! Remember to invite others to Christ! When we do this, we ourselves will come even closer to Him. Love you all. Buenos noches!! Love, Hermana Pease (Sister Myreel Pease)

  1. My dearest Myreel, believe me when I tell you I'll be next to you as you go on this new chapter. And if you need quick help in Spanish, I am also around to help you. I know you'll follow the Spirit of the work you have been called to do; like with everything you do you do it all full in. If you get the chance to borrow a violin, also show them that gift of yours. You are accompanied by many in this trip.
    Love you kiddo,
    Dasha
